In 2001 werd het 82ste Campeonato Potiguar gespeeld voor voetbalclubs uit de Braziliaanse staat Rio Grande do Norte. De competitie werd georganiseerd door de Federação Norte-rio-grandense de Futebol en werd gespeeld van 28 januari tot 27 juni. Corintians werd voor het eerst kampioen en was zelfs de eerste club van buiten de hoofdstad Natal die de staatscompetitie kon winnen.
